Biography

Faris Alsaffar was born in Baghdad in 1964,He grew up on a multinational corporatio's

Oil processing plant outside the city of Karkuk

Faris began drawing at an early age,in Iraq the University of technology/Baghdad

sponsored 5 private exhibitions of his work Engaging with social and philosophical

Questions.he won the amateur cartoons award in Iraq in 1989.

After University Faris was drafted to serve in Saddam's army as a Civil Engineer

after surviving Saddam's adventures in 1992 the American govenment granted Faris a political asylum in California

In 1995 Faris was hiered as an Animation Artist in Walt Disney Feature Animation studios, he worked on 3 feature films

The Hunch back of Notre Dame,Hercukes and The Legend of Mulan.

Faris studied animation at Artist development/Walt Disney studios,animation union and roland animation school.He also

trained production Design at UCLA extention,Multimedia Graphics at Multi Media center/Encino and Studied Illustration

at The David Passalaqua in New York.

Faris injoes working in any illustration field but has a passion for picture making illustration,illustrating books (children's

books,Folk stories,Poetry books and comics).

He also loves poster Design and corporate ID Design.
